    Western National is excited to announce our search for a VP of Agency Sales to join our team. This role will oversee our team of Regional Agency Managers (RAMs) and help support Western’s relationships with our Independent Agencies. This role will also work closely with multiple departments within Western National to help support the company’s goals.

     

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Property and Casualty Insurance world, including previous experience working with or for an Agency. Strong people management skills are required as this role will manage a high-performing team. Previous experience within other facets of the Insurance world, including Underwriting or Claims, are preferred.  

    Responsibilities

    • Build rapport and relationships with key agencies and agency personnel throughout WN footprint.
    • Meet production goals through effective agency management and management of RAM staff.
    • In collaboration with Underwriting, develop annual sales/production plans for each RAM territory.
    • Oversee new agency appointment process.
    • Provide training, development, coaching, and regular feedback to RAM staff, including annual performance reviews.
    • Builds and maintains strong agency relationships with the goal of increasing an agency’s book of personal lines and/or commercial lines business.
    • Contacts and works closely with other departments – Underwriting, Marketing, Claims, Corporate Communications, etc.
    • Communication and negotiation involving creation and delivery of varying messages and information types to agency partners.
    • Informal resource for those with less experience.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of property/casualty insurance experience with strong preference toward company sales and marketing experience in a multi-state territory.
    • Previous experience managing a team within the Property and Casualty space.
    • Strong working experience working with and supporting Agency partners.  
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or equivalent related experience.
    • CPCU, CIC, or other work-related certification preferred.
    • Ability to travel 50%+ (automobile & airline).
