    Western National is in search of a Senior Database Developer to join our team!  This role offers a candidate the opportunity to further their knowledge and skill-set within our growing IT Department.

     

    This exciting opportunity will work with our Data Warehouse while also helping further our companies needs within multiple aspects of the Data world.

     

    The ideal candidate will have strong Database Development skills including strong experience with Tableau.

    Responsibilities

    • Works with stakeholders, developers, and analysts to understand high- and low-level requirements and constraints for the solution to be developed.
    • Produces and documents designs and code that cover project, solution, and organization-wide requirements.
    • Keeps up to date on new technologies to identify and recommend those that may improve the productivity, security, reliability, or capabilities of data and analytic solutions.
    • When needed, aids in various roles to keep projects on track.
    • Develop and implement data collection systems, ETL processes and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
    • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
    • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
    • Analyze data and interpret results.
    • Analyze, design, develop, test and implement standard complex databases.
    • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of Database Development experience.
    • Previous experience with Tableau is preferred.
    • Technical expertise regarding the use of data models, database design, data warehouse development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
    • Proven aptitude for technical decision ownership and providing projects/teams direction.
    • Knowledge of supplemental tools to enhance data load processing into the data warehouse such as SSIS, SSAS and C#.
    • Ability to query and interact with DB2 databases and identify improvements in query structure.
    • Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
    • Seeks training and career development opportunities, participates in community user groups and seminars.
    • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics desired.
