    Western National is in search of a Business Analyst who is looking to join a team where they can make a difference. In this role, you will work closely with our Product Development, Underwriting, and IT Departments to enhance products and technology in support of the achievement of our organizational objectives.

    • Represent and support business area objectives by serving as liaison between IT, Underwriting and Product on technology related initiatives.
    • Partner with business unit representatives, technology resources, and customer experience colleagues to design and implement automation that meets business needs and customer experience standards.
    • Translate proposed customer and business technology modifications and innovations into detailed technical requirements by leading one-on-one, small- and large-group interviews to ensure business needs and customer experience thresholds will be met.
    • Provide clear documentation of business requirements and related user stories.
    • Assist in the development of business cases for approval and resourcing of automation innovations.
    • Contribute to the development of implementation plans; conduct related strategic planning sessions with stakeholders.
    • Drive initiatives through the implementation process; work with scrum masters and product owners to coordinate, facilitate and communicate necessary discussions and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Partner with QA and UAT in defining system integration and user-acceptance test plans; participate in subsequent evaluation of results.
    • Assist with the analysis of bug issues/fixes, enlist assistance from business employees and direct efforts of others as necessary to ensure issue resolution.
    • Partner with business areas in the creation of process workflow documentation and user manuals.
    • Execute internal communication and training related to system modifications and enhancements.


    • 5 years of progressive experience in gathering requirements, testing, and supporting business/technology applications and/or systems.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Insurance Industry experience; personal lines focus is a plus.
    • IIBA CBAP certification desired.
    • Advanced experience interviewing business sponsors and other stakeholders to gather and document requirements as stories into functional/non-functional specifications to include: objectives for project; business and functional requirements, page/process flows, success metrics and use cases.
    • Proficient in software development and QA testing along with knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies, including DevOps or agile delivery models, Scrum methodology.
    • Proven ability to think critically and effectively communicate with customers and stakeholders (internal and external), the technology teams, and multiple business units.
    • Experience with formal agile work management practices, problem management, change control, and strategic project planning.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence change without direct authority.
    • Understanding of business processes.
    • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work, and manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
    • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently or with little direction.
    • Experience with Confluence and JIRA preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
