  • Overview

    Western National is seeking an experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster.  This individual will review claims and make decisions regarding coverage, compensability, exposure and reserves, in accordance with company performance and quality assurance standards. 


    The ideal candidate will be well versed in the processing of multiple states Workers Compensation laws including Minnesota.


    • Investigates, determines coverage, sets reserves, negotiates settlements and concludes assigned claims.
    • Follows sound claim handling techniques in accordance with the company claim standards and performance and quality assurance standards.
    • Provides prompt, courteous service to agents, the claim public and associates.
    • Informs employers and agents of changes in claim status as appropriate.
    • Takes prompt, informed actions to respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
    • Documents claim files as required by company claim standards and supervisory staff.
    • Manages personal caseload effectively in accordance with productivity and cost control objectives.
    • Provides technical/procedural claim advice and training assistance to less experienced and/or new members of the claim staff.


    • 5-10+ years of workers’ compensation claims adjuster experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Minnesota workers’ compensation laws required.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Ability to occasionally attend legal proceedings and/or meetings outside the office required.
    • HS Diploma required.
