    Western National is in search of a Quality Assurance Analyst Manager to join our team!  This exciting opportunity will offer someone with strong leadership skills a chance to grow our Quality Assurance Team. Our QA team continues to leverage Agile as it grows.

     

    As Western National continues to look towards the future, we are looking for a strong people and technical leader to help. The ideal candidate will have lead both Manual testers but also have a strong understanding of how to build and grow automated testing.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the administration of the Quality Assurance team (12 direct reports) activities for assigned product team to include meeting expected work commitments.
    • Provide daily management to the assigned Quality Assurance team through staffing, performance management, training and development.
    • Managing special projects as assigned.
    • Drive automation advancement through the Western National Systems.
    • Work closely with Application Development teams including the use of automation for the Dev Ops Pilot strategy.
    • Identify opportunities to deliver business value through business process improvement, organizational change and/or technology integration.
    • Develop and implement best practices to ensure all Quality Assurance functions are fully documented, supportable and follow applicable regulations.
    • Participate with IT Senior Leadership team in future planning and budgeting processes.
    • Manage the workload and product team assignments of the Quality Assurance Team.
    • Ensures the Quality Assurance Team meets deadlines and have consistent and predictable outcomes.
    • Coach, direct and develop individuals to achieve individual, departmental and company goals.
    • Complete performance reviews for all direct reports.
    • Works constantly to maintain and improve employee engagement and job satisfaction.
    • Updates job knowledge by studying trends/developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks or participating in profession organizations.

    Qualifications

    • 5-7+ years IT Management experience within Quality Assurance. 
    • Prior supervisory/management experience with demonstrated ability to coach, direct, and develop individuals.
    • Strong organizational leadership and communication skills with proven ability to influence change.
    • Demonstrated and in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance policies and practices.
    • 4-year degree in business or other related field of study or equivalent experience with an Associate degree acceptable.
    • Experience with an Agile software environment required.
    • Experience with Jira, Confluence and Zephyr preferred but not required.
    • Selenium tool experience is a plus.
    • Insurance industry experience is a plus.
