    Western National is seeking a Quality Assurance Trainee to join our growing IT department. This exciting opportunity will give someone a great opportunity to learn and grow within our Quality Assurance team. This role will start with hands on experience with Production Support and grow into more hands-on Quality Assurance work as the position progresses.

     

    The ideal candidate will have a high level of interest in getting in to the IT/Quality Assurance world.

    Responsibilities

    • Triage user production issues accordingly for effective resolution and completion.
    • Create and maintain Knowledge based documentation.
    • Run functional tests, identify defects, enter bugs into tracking system and validate fixes.
    • Perform formal testing such as regression, usability.
    • Triage and escalate issues as appropriate.
    • Effectively interact with business users on production support emails.
    • Follows process to execute system/integration and user-acceptance test plans, documenting results according to agreed upon standards.
    • Works with other testing resources, communicating the status of testing activities and provides testing results to the team.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree; prefer Mathematical or Computer Science.
    • 0-2 years of experience in Testing, post production support help desk role.
    • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience with issue management tools preferred.
    • Ability to multi-task in a largely self-directed work environment.
    • Insurance or financial industry knowledge preferred.
