Western National is seeking a experienced Casualty Claims Representative in our Seattle office.  This position will provide quality investigation and analysis to adjust casualty claims to proper conclusion.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Handle low to moderate complexity liability claims within settlement authority
  • Ensure customer service excellence
  • Investigate and review policy forms, facts and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claims resolution
  • Establish and review proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience, maintaining appropriate reports to ensure current status of claims are clearly documented at all times
  • Utilize knowledge, experience and available resources to resolve claims
  • May participate in development of improvements and help implement change
  • Regular contact with customers (insureds, claimants, agents) as well as regular contact with employees across the organization; travel for field work as required
  • Occasional travel on short notice for field work as required (i.e., scene investigations, meeting witnesses, etc.)




Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of claims handling experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and other systems on a daily basis
  • Understanding of industry practices, standards, and claim concepts
  • Able to multitask and solve problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation with individuals and attorneys
  • Good business judgment
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent related experience
  • Working toward AIC, AINS or CPCU certification is preferred
